A leading transportation solutions provider is seeking a Software Designer to lead the design of software tools for engineering projects in Bologna or Bari, Italy. This role involves all phases of software production, from functional analysis to technical documentation, and requires proficiency in C# programming. As a software designer on the system tools & automation team, you will lead the design of software tools and platforms for both national and international engineering projects. Your role encompasses all phases of software production, including functional analysis, architecture definition, technology selection, development, code versioning, and technical documentation.
You may also be involved in the development of pilots or applications utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), as well as leveraging Office 365 platforms like PowerApps and Power Automate. Additionally, you will participate in meetings with colleagues from various departments and clients to help achieve project milestones. You may work on specialized IT platforms and electronic devices, such as those used for train diagnostics. Your key responsibilities will include defining product requirements, engaging in technical discussions with suppliers, and managing product lifecycles in both national and international contexts.
As part of the team, you will also take on training responsibilities, sometimes as a trainee and other times as a trainer.
Educated to University Degree level.
Passion and experience in software development.
Proficiency in C# programming.
Familiarity with the .NET / Framework ecosystem (WPF, Entity Framework, gRPC, Visual Studio, etc.).
Understanding of networking principles, architectures, and protocols.
Basic knowledge of software design patterns and models.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems (client and server).
Fluent in English.
Knowledge of Office 365 platforms (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI).
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps.
Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
Knowledge of the EN 50128 standard.
Familiarity with railway systems.
Proactive attitude.
Curiosity about new solutions and technologies.
Problem-solving and Agile mindset.
Teamwork skills.
Strong relational and communication abilities.
The job position is based in Bologna or Bari, Italy.
