General Purpose of the Position

The Senior Project Manager (PM) for Data Center Design and Construction Projects will oversee the full lifecycle of data center development, from initial design and permitting through to construction, commissioning and handover to operations. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the project, including coordinating the design, construction, procurement, subcontractors, vendors and client interfaces. The PM will ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with regulatory requirements while meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end data center construction projects, from initial design and permitting through to construction, commissioning and handover to operations
• Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets and resources
• Coordinate design teams, engineers, contractors, vendors and local authorities
• Ensure that the design integrates critical systems such as electrical, mechanical, IT infrastructure, cooling and fire suppression
• Obtain all necessary permits and regulatory approvals in compliance with local, regional and national laws
• Oversee the construction process and conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality and safety
• Manage contractors and subcontractors performance and coordination
• Monitor and control project costs, forecasting and financial reporting
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and delays
• Oversee the testing, commissioning and handover processes
• Ensure smooth handover to operations, including documentation and manuals
• Provide clear project reporting to clients and senior management

Required Skills and Background

• Degree in Engineering or Architecture
• At least 7–10 years of experience as Project Manager / Construction Project Manager
• Preferred background in Data Centers or Oil & Gas projects
• Experience in budgeting, cost control and scheduling
• Strong capability in project planning, scheduling and resource management
• Contractor and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of Italian building codes and HSE regulations
• Fluent in English and Italian

This role offers a hybrid working model, with 3 days on‑site and 2 days remote work per week.
