Overview

Retail Systems Cloud Engineer, Retail Deployment and Operations Engineering — Amazon Fresh Store technology infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the Retail Deployment Services and Lab Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of driving cloud infrastructure innovation, mentoring team members, and translating complex technical challenges into actionable solutions, with additional experience in Windows solutions, POS systems, device management and software deployment platforms like SCCM.

Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize cloud infrastructure projects, implementing advanced solutions using industry best practices and strategic insight.
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure for technology platforms, including Windows solutions, POS systems, and device management.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, translating intricate issues into actionable solutions across cloud environments.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership to ensure seamless technological integration and communicate strategic technological concepts.
• Develop and optimize workflow procedures for cloud deployment, management, and software deployment platforms like SCCM or AirWatch.
• Provide comprehensive documentation, support operational excellence, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members, contribute to knowledge sharing, and proactively challenge existing technological paradigms.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with excellent cross-functional communication and critical thinking.
• Embody intellectual curiosity and rapid learning capability.

• Review overnight cloud monitoring alerts and performance dashboards.
• Analyze AWS CloudWatch metrics for potential infrastructure anomalies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in stand-up meetings.
• Analyze root cause using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Update operational documentation.
• KPI tracking: Infrastructure uptime; Deployment efficiency.
• Refine automation scripts for infrastructure management.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in AWS cloud engineering
• Experience in cloud infrastructure design and deployment, with a strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices
• Experience resolving complex technical challenges
• Proficiency in Windows engineering and enterprise device management
• Experience translating complex technical concepts to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification
• Microsoft Technical Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Experience with complex cloud solution implementations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
