A leading construction and engineering firm is seeking a QHSE Manager to oversee quality, health, safety, and environmental policies across various sites in Italy and internationally. The role includes developing systems aligned with ISO standards, conducting inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.
The QHSE Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all
policies and procedures across the company’s sites and projects, in Italy and abroad. This includes high-risk operations involving post-tensioned structures, anti-seismic installations, and the engineering, deployment and operation of specialized heavy construction equipment. The QHSE Manager ensures full compliance with international and local standards and fosters a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
Lead the development of the Health & Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001.
Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and enforce control measures for high-risk activities, including:
Ensure site compliance with all applicable regulatory, statutory, and client safety requirements.
Lead incident investigations and ensure effective root cause analysis and communication of lessons learned.
Monitor the Environmental Management System aligned with ISO 14001.
Ensure compliance with environmental permits, local regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Monitor and mitigate environmental risks related to:
Construction activities in sensitive environments (e.g., over water, near communities)
Prepare environmental reports and liaise with relevant environmental authorities as needed.
Integrate the various QHSE functions / staff of the organization, at worldwide level (Europe, North America, India, Australia) and ensure their competencies development.
Monitor QHSE KPIs, ensure adequate reporting and present findings to senior management and project stakeholders.
Foster a strong culture of proactive safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
