Job Description

If you are a Technical Engineering professional looking to grow your career, this role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with customer interaction and project execution. As a Proposal & Project Engineer in our Natural Gas Systems team based in Bologna (Italy), you will play a key role in developing competitive technical proposals and supporting project delivery for innovative gas pressure regulation systems and turnkey solutions across Italy and Europe.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will analyze customer specifications, prepare technical and commercial offers, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project execution. Your work will help deliver high-quality solutions for natural gas, biomethane, and hydrogen applications, while driving process improvements and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Analyze Specifications – Review of technical specifications and prepare documents for gas pressure regulation systems and skid packages.
  • Prepare Offers – Create technical and commercial proposals, including bills of materials and cost estimates.
  • Support Sizing – Assist with sizing activities and selecting components to meet project requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales – Join technical discussions and clarifications with customers and support Area Sales Managers.
  • Conduct Site Surveys – Participate in technical site visits during bidding and proposal phases.
  • Coordinate with Procurement – Work with suppliers for technical clarifications and quotations of non‑standard items.
  • Review Orders – Lead technical reviews after order acquisition to ensure alignment with scope and specifications.
  • Support Projects – Provide technical assistance to Project Managers and participate in Kick‑Off Meetings.
  • Improve Processes – Contribute to process improvements and maintain compliance with industry standards.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering roles related to gas systems, process systems, or skid‑mounted solutions, preferably within energy, oil & gas, or industrial automation sectors.
  • A Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical or related disciplines) is desirable; we welcome candidates with equivalent skills gained through practical experience or vocational training.
  • Strong technical background in gas systems or process engineering, with proven experience in proposal engineering and project support.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID and technical specifications accurately.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Fluent Italian (mandatory) and English for effective communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with PED and ATEX standards, plus basic knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
  • Occasional travel within Italy and Europe, with primary focus on the Italian market.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Experience managing complex proposals and technical projects for gas systems or skid‑mounted solutions.
  • Familiarity with advanced engineering standards and compliance frameworks such as PED and ATEX.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and instrumentation principles.
  • Certification or advanced training in project management or process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP).
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional collaboration and deliver projects within tight timelines and cost targets.
  • Multilingual communication skills and experience working in international, cross‑cultural environments.
