A global technology company is seeking a motivated Project Procurement Manager in Naples. You'll lead procurement projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and managing risk effectively. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years' experience in procurement, be skilled in procurement strategy, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills. This position offers a full-time schedule with no remote work opportunities.

Competenze

  • 5+ years’ experience in Procurement: Category and/or Projects.
  • Extensive experience in Procurement Strategy is mandatory.
  • Ability to implement and follow up on Procurement Strategy.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Project Procurement Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples – IT.

Brief task description
  • The Project Procurement Manager (PPM) may lead one or several Procurement Projects and/or Procurement Bids
  • The PPM is accountable for end‑to‑end Procurement Strategy of a Project / Bid
  • The PPM is expected to lead and drive Project Procurement Strategy, involving Category Managers, Category Buyers and other Procurement players from all Participating Units
  • The PPM identifies and establishes saving targets for the Work Packages, while managing Risk and Opportunities
  • Furthermore, the PPM might address one or several Categories from an end‑to‑end Procurement Process
  • In the Bid phase, the PPM will lead the procurement team and consolidate Procurement costs, while identifying Risk and Opportunities
Missions and responsibilities
  • Own relationship with internal stakeholders and drive Procurement Project Strategy
  • Conduct opportunity analysis, spend and risk management
  • Work closely with Project Management function to ensure alignment of Procurement deliverables with Project Business needs
  • Prepare and follow up on Project Procurement Plan
  • Ensure that Hitachi e‑Acquisition and all Hitachi procurement tools are fully used
  • Perform make or buy analysis together with the team
  • Execute end‑to‑end Procurement Process for the category, if requested
Work Experience Requirements
  • Business school or Engineering degree
  • Business, Procurement, Supply Chain or Engineering accreditations are desirable
  • 5+ years’ experience in Procurement: Category and/or Projects
  • Extensive experience in Procurement Strategy is mandatory
  • Previous experience working with contracts and contract negotiation knowledge are desirable
  • Previous experience in Project Management is nice to have
  • Previous experience working in a matrix organization desirable
  • Ability to implement and follow up on Procurement Strategy, while reporting progress + Risk and Opportunities
  • Knowledge of Procurement specific tools – TCO, Nego planner, Risk & Opportunity
  • Advanced Excel skills, good knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Manage various Procurement specific tools – increased complexity
