Platform Systems Specialist- NAVIRIS

JOB DESCRIPTION

NAVIRIS is looking for a Platform System Specialist for its Engineering Department in Genoa (IT).

NAVIRIS represents the Joint Venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group.

This partnership consolidates the shared desire of the two companies to build a future of excellence for the shipbuilding industry and for the Marine.

Through NAVIRIS, Fincantieri and Naval Group join forces to develop a new strategic capacity and respond in an innovative way to the needs of their customers in an increasingly competitive market.

Headquartered in Genoa and another headquarters located in Ollioules, the NAVIRIS team focuses on bilateral and export projects.

The alliance is the natural evolution of the historical partnership between two world leaders. With more than twenty years of collaboration, Naval Group and Fincantieri have already achieved successful milestones together : already in the 90s with the Horizon air defense destroyer program (four ships) and with the FREMM multi-mission frigate program ongoing since 2005 (twenty ships).

NAVIRIS' goal is to create value for its customers through the following key areas :

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

He / She shall be able to follow-up, understand and coordinate the design of platform systems, at least in terms of architecture and overall sizing; and to produce Professional Quality deliverables based on the data provided by NAVIRIS partners. The capability to coordinate technically major sub-contractors is mandatory. It will consist in regular technical meetings, design reviews, follow-up of Action Items Registers. The objective is to ensure that the design made by partners will fulfil the needs of the Customers.

As Platform System Specialist, he / She will have the responsibility of presenting the solutions proposed by Naviris partners to our Customers. A capability to present clearly and to convince is necessary

He / She shall have polyvalent experience in the design and testing of Electrical / Automated or Mechanical / Auxiliary systems (respectively) for Naval vessels. This experience shall cover the understanding of technical specifications, description, schemes, standards and rules, standard solutions and standard materials.

Besides, He / She shall have a good knowledge of Surface Ships architecture of systems and of the Class Rules (in particular the ones applicable to Naval ships) applicable to mechanical and electrical systems.

He / She shall be able to perform System Engineering tasks and requirements management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture, or Marine Systems Engineering, or Auxiliary Systems Engineering, or Electrical Systems Engineering;
  • Good knowledge of the integration of Auxiliary or electrical systems to Platform Management System (PMS)
  • Professional English (speaking, writing and reading). Ability to speak Italian (for French candidates) or French (for Italian candidates) is a plus.
  • Occasional travels to Ollioules (France), our subsidiary, are envisaged according to organizational needs
