Your impact

Within our Piping Department in the Italy office, we are looking for a Piping Stress Engineer.

Main responsibilities include
  • Perform Piping Stress calculations in Caesar II from PCFs or Isometrics (provided by Piping Design team);
  • Perform Piping Stress Calculations (Static and Modal) for several conditions, defining the relevant Load Cases (CAESAR II);
  • Determine piping loads on structures, vessels, and equipment; create tables to transmit loads to related disciplines to incorporate into design;
  • Perform analysis of nozzle loads for vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, etc. (Caesar II);
  • Provide recommendations to improve pipe flexibility, including piping routing, and piping support position and typology;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g. ASME B31.3, EN 13480, API);
  • Provide comments and review documentation received from contractors for the identified critical fluids;
  • Represent the project team / group in internal and external meetings, when needed.
Here's what you'll need
  • Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is required;
  • Knowledge of main international piping codes relevant to the pharmaceutical market;
  • Capability of working collaboratively with other designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration with other disciplines;
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines respecting project requirements;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members and clients, internal and external;
  • Ability of thinking out of the box to add value and generate optimization ideas;
  • Good presentation skills and troubleshooting approach guided by logical reasoning;
  • Willingness to travel for short periods;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and very good knowledge of Italian (at least B2).
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Experience in piping systems for industrial plants, preferably in chemical, Biotech and pharmaceutical industry;
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management procedures;
  • Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam;
  • Ability to develop piping Stress specifications, work instructions, procedures and guidelines;
  • Practical field experience.
