Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover) – Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel Venice, belonging to Marriott International.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Multi‑property Marketing Director, this fixed‑term contract covers an employee on maternity leave. The role is an excellent opportunity to work in a venue of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet renewed Venetian style. The Gritti Palace is known for impassioned service, a delectable culinary experience and an intimate wellness haven, and serves as the reference point for the world’s elite at international city events such as the Biennale, Carnival and the Venice Film Festival.

The Impact You’ll Make

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and independent marketer capable of driving integrated marketing strategies to position the hotel domestically and internationally. Experience across the marketing mix with a luxury brand, understanding of Restaurant & Bar Marketing, and operational knowledge are essential. You will enhance the Gritti Palace experience through creative, aspirational programming, promotions and activities in F&B venues, suites and spa, while ensuring smooth operation during evening and weekend events and managing all social media channels with the support of the Marketing Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and brief content creation (copy, photo/video) to creative agencies, ensuring brand guideline compliance.
  • Drive positioning and activation of the F&B outlets in the local market; develop and implement local marketing activities, including event strategy, to engage locals and increase captured ratios from in‑house guests.
  • Act as Brand Champion with hotel teams and the Sales team to ensure brand activation and experience.
  • Support the sales team with marketing collateral and tactical promotions for key market segments.
  • Ensure full compliance with Marriott International standards and programs.
  • Champion the social media strategy in collaboration with Digital Field Marketing, focusing on online reputation and guest engagement.
  • Conduct competitive research and analysis, updating as needed.
  • Support local promotional activities, including photo shoots, broadcasts, celebrity interviews, press visits, and events requiring personal attention; forge local partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Interpret reports for sound marketing recommendations (DMA source market reports, past guest lists, etc.).
  • Maintain communication with Convention Bureaus and Tourism Offices.
  • Implement strategic marketing plans for the property, including group leisure and local activities.
  • Provide creative tools for all sales channels to assist in property sales and marketing.
  • Act as liaison between corporate and the property, ensuring implementation of brand and corporate programs.
  • Assist with material monitoring, analysis, and presentation compilation for owners.
  • Maintain detailed records of marketing materials and associated rights.
  • Collaborate with content creators to develop brand‑aligned content.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to manage the marketing budget throughout the year.
  • Track ROI of all marketing initiatives, including online direct mail and print advertising.
  • Support the Director of Marketing in developing strategic marketing plans for the property.
  • Connect with local and national PR teams as necessary.
Revenue Generation
  • Work with the sales team to drive RPI, new collateral and packages.
  • Create a schedule of pre‑ and post‑stay marketing messages based on the calendar and needs.
  • React to meetings/banqueting and room sales forecasts with appropriate sales/field marketing assistance.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to optimize design and build relevant digital channels.
  • Create content for the hotel website.
  • Assist in connecting the property to all Marriott internal sales channels.
  • Evaluate new marketing opportunities for the property.
  • Support the sales team in the creation of consortia‑specific packages and materials.
Digital
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of all content and initiatives.
  • Implement brand direction on new websites (internal/external), imagery and content.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Field team to deliver multi‑lingual tactical marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Field team to manage OTA updates (text and photography).
  • Maintain and coordinate all video and photography updates and audits.
  • Manage all social media channel posts and reputation review sites.
  • Ensure the property is represented on all quality internet sites that can drive business.
  • Assist in developing promotions for various campaigns, mindful of strategy, objectives and necessary conditions.
  • Ensure correct representation in consortia websites.
Collateral
  • Brief all design collateral to outside agencies as required.
  • Ensure all printed, electronic and guest‑facing material is on brand.
  • Regularly appraise material for brand compliance and local relevance.
  • Ensure hotel teams are proficient with brand standards when designing in‑house.
  • Collaborate with sales for the creation of consortia‑specific collateral.
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand Italian and English at native level.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills (verbal and written).
  • True brand ambassador.
  • Event management/organizational skills.
  • Understanding of consumer trends in the digital sphere.
  • Innovative, proactive and resourceful.
