The LG Manufacturing Controller leads the financial controlling function across five production plants, managing a team of site controllers and ensuring consistency in cost control, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, improving cost transparency, and supporting strategic decisions at both plant and corporate levels.
Job responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and support a team of 5 plant controllers across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Ensure alignment of local practices with corporate financial and controlling standards.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, knowledge sharing, and performance reviews.
- Oversee month-end closings, cost center reporting, and analysis for all plants.
- Ensure standard cost structures are implemented and maintained uniformly across sites.
- Develop and enforce consistent policies for inventory valuation, fixed asset management, and cost allocations.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Analysis
- Coordinate annual budgets and rolling forecasts across all plants.
- Consolidate and analyze plant performance metrics including COGS, variances, labor, and overhead efficiency.
- Provide in-depth analysis on deviations, trends, and risks with actionable recommendations.
4. Strategic Business Support
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Executive Management to support strategic planning.
- Contribute to capacity planning, make-or-buy decisions.
- Lead ad hoc financial analyses and scenarios for cross-plant operational decisions.
4. Continuous Improvement & Internal Controls
- Identify and implement best practices in controlling processes across sites.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s or CPA / CMA a strong plus).
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing controllers or plant finance teams.
- Solid knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis in an industrial setting.
- Proven experience with multi-plant operations and matrix management.
- Expertise in ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Advanced Excel skills, knowledge of Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence across levels.
- Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
- Understanding of supply chain and production KPIs.
- Willingness to travel to plant locations (10–30%).
