A global organisation in shipping and logistics is seeking a Legal Advisor to join their team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be responsible for legal and compliance duties, including policy development and managing legal documents. A Bachelor’s degree in Law is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. The role offers a Monday to Friday schedule and the flexibility of working from home two days a week.

GRS has partnered with a global organisation within shipping and logistics, currently hiring a Legal Advisor in Nicosia. This role reports to the Group Head of Risk and involves legal and compliance responsibilities. If you possess the necessary skills, please apply for this Nicosia-based position.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop, implement, train, and maintain global policies.
  2. Create and manage standard commercial terms and conditions for services, materials, rentals, engineering, and procurement.
  3. Provide training and guidance on compliance and legal obligations, including adherence to company policies and international regulations.
  4. Coordinate and document Board and Shareholder meetings across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  5. Maintain a compliance checklist for subsidiary documentation and ensure timely updates.
  6. Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents.
  7. Conduct legal research and advise on corporate and commercial matters.
  8. Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
  9. Organise the collection, storage, and retention of legal and corporate records.
  10. Handle contractual and commercial disputes, assist in settlement processes, and keep accurate records.
  11. Collaborate with internal departments on legal and compliance initiatives.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); an LLM in Maritime Law or a related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar in-house legal role or law firm, preferably with corporate or maritime law focus.
  • High professionalism, initiative, and conscientiousness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Greek, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working independently and in multicultural teams.
COMPANY BENEFITS
