WSP is the world's leading engineering company, specialising in infrastructure, transport, environment, energy and buildings.

We have a clear vision of how we want to help make the world a better place, by giving back to communities and supporting what's really important for our future.

Due to significant growth in this sector, WSP’s Power & Energy Services Team is looking to strengthen its capabilities by hiring a Junior Environmental Engineer. The position is based in one of our offices in Rome, Turin, Milan, Rende, Pisa, or Padova.

In this role, you will join a multidisciplinary team that embodies our core values : solidarity, passion for large-scale and complex projects, and a spirit of innovation and conviviality.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?

As an entry-level engineer, you will perform routine tasks applying established engineering principles and contribute to larger assignments by following prescribed methods.

Your responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing data, supporting the development of designs, reports, and technical studies, and performing basic calculations, simulations, and preliminary analyses under the guidance of senior team members.

You will also use engineering software tools as directed and assist in preparing material requisitions, specifications, and related documentation.

Collaboration with other technical staff is essential, as you will help track project progress and support verification of project control documents.

This role offers valuable hands-on experience and a strong foundation for your professional development within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?

We are looking for a Junior Environmental Engineer with at least one year of experience and a degree in Environmental Engineering, ideally with a specialization in renewable energy. A solid understanding of regulatory codes, design standards, and layout criteria relevant to the field is essential.

You should be familiar with constraint analysis at national, regional, and local levels, as well as key topics such as hydrology, geology, and geotechnical engineering. Previous experience supporting Environmental Impact Assessments and landscape analysis will be considered a strong asset.

Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and the Microsoft Office suite is required; experience with BIM platforms is a plus.

This position is ideal for someone growing into a consultant or designer role, capable of delivering high-quality work within scope, schedule, and budget. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary technical teams.

We seek someone with a strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and willingness to take on various tasks. The ability to accept feedback and apply it constructively is key. Demonstrating both technical and interpersonal potential, managing workload effectively, and beginning to build a professional network within the organization are important.

Fluency in both Italian and English is essential.

YOUR TEAM

You will join the Power & Energy Services team, a multidisciplinary group engaged in engineering and consultancy services within the energy and renewables sectors. The team works on complex national and international projects, supporting clients throughout all design and construction phases. You’ll collaborate with engineers, consultants, and project managers across disciplines and geographies, in an environment that fosters technical excellence and continuous learning.
