HR Plant Manager

Job Description

Barilla G.& R. Fratelli wants to recruit a Human Resources Manager for Novara Plant and Galliate Mill.

The individual will report to the Novara Plant Director and functionally to the Human Resources Director Operations and Industrial relations Italy.

Job Purpose

The person, in order to support to the plant results achievement and improvement, will provide support in the proper management and development of plant personnel, guaranteeing consistency with legislation and with established company processes and stipulation of agreements with the labor unions that modify conditions set by the national contracts. In conjunction with the Corporate HR team, he/she will help to implement all the human resources processes in line with Group policies and programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Take part in the development of Barilla’s budget by working, in conjunction with the F&A management and each department’s HR, to the definition of resource needs, evaluation of labor costs in the plant, definition of the budget for selection, training and development activities. Analyze observed gaps between the expected and actual value of said variables, in line with defined procedures.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the process of attracting, selecting and usefully employing new personnel for the plant, with regard to both white collar and blue-collar workers, ensuring consistency with established plans for the workforce and with the needs and profiles required by the different plant units, in line with the assigned budget.
  • Guarantee appropriate implementation of technical and managerial training for the plant’s personnel, in conjunction with the local Knowledge Management Identity function, identifying participants, channeling them into the various initiatives and collecting their feedback and evaluation of plans in terms of efficacy and usefulness.
  • Guarantee appropriate development of the Performance Management process, through preparation of meetings with the union representatives, monitoring of the implementation stages, support to the plant managers and shift supervisors in the carrying out of interviews and identification of any need for corrections, consistently with guidelines established by the central HR department.
  • Guarantee the appropriate implementation of specific company processes involving plants.
  • Manage all procedures involving plant workers and all the local labour law litigations.
  • Ensure, through own unit and in conjunction with the F&A management, proper carrying out of administrative and accounting procedures regarding payroll, personnel management and the safeguard of privacy, and guaranteeing that activities take place in compliance to social security, fiscal and contractual regulations.
  • Take part in the devising of local-level strategies for the management of relations and negotiations with the Trade Unions, including definition of any integrative agreements and supervision over their proper enactment, and the handling of relations with plant-based and local union representatives, while providing specialized support to plant units in line with broader strategies defined by the Associate Relations function area.
