Overview

Responsibilities

As a Training Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in developing and improving the Training material for wind turbine blades handling and logistics. If you do not have knowledge within transporting composite materials, blade parts or whole blades, you will need a high motivation to learn. You will focus on modern training systems and materials, including process vision or digital enabling systems. The training methods are focused on the receivers, with factory logistics employees in focus.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize training material within the Handling & Logistics process
  • Analyze AS IS and future state of training material and systems
  • Create Process Roadmap and plans for future states
  • Define training material requirements and specifications if material shall be developed by others
  • Standardization of generic layup training materials
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility
  • Investigate and solve training issues using structured methods such as the 5x Why, Fishbone Diagrams
  • Apply continuous improvement principles using Lean tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final training material quality
Education
  • Bachelor of manufacturing engineering or equivalent
  • Train the Trainer or other training education
Experience
  • 6-8 years of developing training material mainly for unskilled workers
  • Training of shop floor employees
  • Planning of training - for up to 100 persons
  • Developed/defined functional training material for employees with a short or long education
Essential skills
  • Ability to assess skill gaps and define learning objectives aligned with business goals
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, blended learning, and experiential training formats
  • Working with engineering managers and subject matter experts to co-develop content for functional training material
  • Ensuring training aligns with ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal policies
  • Familiarity with LMS (Learning Management Systems) and e-learning tools
  • Gathering input from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs
  • Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems
  • Data-Driven Decision Making, use of tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented with strong organizational discipline
  • Ability to work with others in a large organization across cultures and time zones; build networks and work with stakeholders
  • Be an integral part of cross-functional product development projects
  • Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain from a customer perspective
