This Position reports to: Service Team Leader

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Commissioning and maintaining ABB Marine Azipod propulsion units, ensuring commissioning and service activities are completed efficiently and cost‑effectively, in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Commissioning and Maintenance of ABB Marine Azipod systems, including installation supervision, startup, testing, and acceptance in collaboration with classification societies and customers.
  • Handling warranty and service calls on operating vessels, ensuring timely and effective support.
  • Continuous improvement by providing feedback on commissioning activities and suggesting solutions to meet business and customer needs.
  • Project delivery and documentation, ensuring quality, following ABB procedures, and preparing all required reports post‑assignment.
  • Compliance and communication, adhering to ABB policies and reporting opportunities or issues to management.
Qualifications for the Role
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical power engineering or automation, with over 2 years of experience in commissioning or servicing relevant systems. Shipbuilding experience and ABB product knowledge are a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents (e.g., datasheets, electrical drawings, P&ID diagrams), and a good understanding of industrial and marine power generation/distribution processes.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and preferably ABB‑specific tools.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Italian; willingness to travel globally on short notice by various means of transport. Valid driver’s license and ability to work within an Italian service organization serving international customers.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to going the extra mile.
  • Ability to work well in both team environments and independently, with resilience under pressure and a focus on targets.
  • Excellent communication, creative thinking, and strong troubleshooting abilities to tackle complex challenges.
