Technical Support Engineer – Italian Market
Understanding of operational principles, functions, installation processes, and knowledge of key products such as photovoltaic storage systems, inverters, batteries, and brackets.
Pre‑Sales Technical Support
- Understand customer requirements and provide comprehensive pre‑sales technical support.
- Collaborate with the sales team during client negotiations to address technical queries.
- Clarify customers' technical issues in the project's early stages, including on‑site technical surveys when necessary.
- Develop and refine pre‑sales training materials, and deliver both online and offline technical training to clients.
During‑Sales Technical Support
- Enhance training materials related to installation processes and provide relevant training to clients, both online and offline.
- Offer on‑site guidance during installation as needed.
Post‑Sales Technical Support
- Promptly address technical quality issues raised in customer complaints.
- Resolve queries about product usage, maintenance, and replacement, including on‑site support when necessary.
- Improve post‑sales operation and maintenance training materials, and provide related training to customers, both online and offline.
Main Duties
- Build and maintain a strong, trustful relationship with customers and stakeholders.
- Offer technical support focused on design and Features & Benefits.
- Conduct training for customers, end users, consultants, and specifiers of fire protection equipment.
- Hold commercial responsibilities for Water Mist (Econaqua/Procon) and Foam systems.
- Build a specification and quotation pipeline.
- Organize and provide training and seminars.
- Maintain strong contacts with system stakeholders to promote Viking products.
- Collaborate closely with the technical support team in EMEA.
Additional Duties
- Assist customers in complex projects to identify required systems and products.
- Provide technical support to colleagues with accurate technical information.
- Offer on‑site assistance to customers as necessary.
- Work with product management to define product offering and manage local approvals.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing to launch new products.
- Participate in Standards Committees and Trade Associations to drive industry development.
- Define and realize solutions for local standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in technical/business development within the fire protection or related business.
- Engineering background (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic) and understanding of contracting jargon.
- Good knowledge of fire protection rules; experience designing systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of special hazards engineering is nice to have.
- Prefab/pipework installation experience is desirable.
- Proven technical skills and experience.
- Italian and English languages are a must; French is an advantage but not required.
