Overview

Join Amazon's Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Innovation Lab in Vercelli, Italy, as a MSP CX Sr. Test Engineer. Be at the forefront of revolutionizing Amazon's fulfillment technology and serve as the principal technical authority for testing and validation of automated solutions that impact millions of customer experiences worldwide. Work with state-of-the-art robotics and automation systems while leading critical testing initiatives to ensure reliability and performance of next-generation fulfillment technologies.

Leverage expertise in mechatronics, robotics, and test methodologies to drive innovation and excellence across the MSP organization. Key responsibilities
  • Speahead development and execution of comprehensive test strategies for innovative automation solutions, establishing validation frameworks and robust test methodologies to ensure reliability of complex mechatronic systems.
  • Design and conduct sophisticated system-level experiments, leveraging Six Sigma principles and failure mode analyses to validate new technologies.
  • Architect data-driven test automation solutions, lead technical risk assessments and quality initiatives, and mentor technical teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Foster knowledge transfer and standardize procedures, performance optimization strategies, and testing standards across Europe and globally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to influence product development from concept to deployment, communicate technical findings effectively, and drive continuous improvement of automation initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with relevant experience in test engineering and validation.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects in mechatronics or robotics systems, including hardware integration, software controls, and system validation.
  • Advanced knowledge of test methodologies, failure mode analysis (PFMEA, FTA), and ability to develop comprehensive test strategies.
  • Strong background in data analysis and performance metrics, with experience implementing test automation solutions and analyzing system performance.
  • Proven track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams, including experience working with senior leadership up to Director level.
  • Experience developing and implementing scalable testing processes, with documentation of procedures, best practices, and technical specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with complex mechatronic systems and ability to drive root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring technical teams and driving technical optimization initiatives.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel within EU and internationally as needed (up to 25%), with experience working in R&D laboratory environments.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification with demonstrated experience applying DMAIC methodology and advanced statistical analysis tools in complex mechatronic/robotics testing environments.
  • Experience with automation testing frameworks and data analytics platforms, including developing test scripts and analyzing large datasets to identify performance patterns and anomalies in robotic systems.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional testing initiatives for complex mechatronic systems, including development of test plans, PFMEA/FTA analyses, and technical documentation that influenced product design decisions.
  • Knowledge of CAD software and process simulation tools to optimize test scenarios and validate mechanical/electrical system interactions.
  • Experience managing testing laboratories and establishing scalable testing processes, including SOPs, test methodologies, and quality control mechanisms.
  • Multilingual communication skills (English + Italian preferred) with ability to communicate technical concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, including executive-level presentations.
