EHS Specialist - Italy – Sungrow Europe

Join Sungrow Europe as an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist in Italy. You will lead the development and enforcement of EHS programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards while fostering a culture of safety across our organization.

Your mission

As an EHS Specialist you will be the first line of defense against environmental, health, and safety risks. Your role involves risk assessments, audits, training, and continuous improvement of our EHS management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive EHS programs aligned with corporate goals.
    • Integrate safety and environmental standards into daily operations, balancing business objectives with compliance.
    • Collaborate with other departments to implement initiatives and promote a safety‑first culture.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
    • Conduct in‑depth risk assessments with supervisors and stakeholders to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Update risk assessments to reflect changing conditions, regulations, and business operations.
    • Advise management and employees on best practices to reduce risks and ensure compliance.
  • EHS Audits and Inspections
    • Plan, execute, and document routine EHS audits and inspections to assess compliance.
    • Identify non‑compliance issues, develop corrective action plans, and track results.
    • Provide detailed reports to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Advisory and Training
    • Provide expert guidance on EHS matters to management, supervisors, and employees.
    • Develop and deliver training programs on safety practices and emergency response.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all EHS inquiries, fostering strong relationships across the organization.
  • EHS Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of EHS activities, audits, and corrective actions.
    • Ensure all records comply with legal requirements and are accessible for audits and reviews.
    • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports on time, ensuring full compliance with local and national regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of relevant EHS management experience, preferably in an electrical environment.
    • Proven track record in risk assessment, program management, and compliance monitoring.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Program Management: Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple EHS programs.
    • Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating environmental, health, and safety risks.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local, national, and international EHS regulations.
    • Communication: Ability to convey complex EHS concepts to all levels of the organization.
    • Analytical Thinking: Conduct thorough audits, risk assessments, and data analysis for continuous improvement.
    • Languages: Italian & English (C1).
