Overview

We are delighted to be partnering with a world-leading luxury brand to appoint a Global Director of eCommerce & Digital Business, based at the company’s Milan headquarters. This is a senior leadership role with full global remit, responsible for defining and executing the digital commerce strategy across eCommerce and eConcessions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position carries full P&L ownership and accountability for revenue, profitability, and operational excellence.

The Global Director will combine strategic vision with hands-on execution, overseeing market expansion, platform development, performance marketing, and customer experience. This is a career-defining opportunity for a commercially minded digital leader with deep operational expertise, strong financial acumen, and a proven track record in scaling digital businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement the global eCommerce and eConcessions strategy, driving market entry, expansion, and go-to-market planning.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to assess demand, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments.
  • Build a multi-year roadmap that balances long-term growth with short-term implementation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure local adaptation while maintaining global alignment and omnichannel integration.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility, accountable for revenue growth, profitability, and margin optimisation.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking, ensuring all initiatives deliver strong ROI.
  • Develop pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies to drive commercial performance.
  • Monitor and enhance key business metrics including CAC, LTV, ROAS, conversion, and retention.
Platform Development, UX & Operations
  • Oversee the development, launch, and scaling of eCommerce platforms across global markets.
  • Define and deliver the product roadmap, ensuring best-in-class UX/UI, personalisation, CRO, and seamless content-to-commerce integration.
  • Ensure operational excellence across inventory, fulfilment/3PL, payments, fraud prevention, and customer service.
  • Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and partners supporting digital infrastructure.
  • Implement scalable systems and processes to drive efficiency and enable growth.
Performance Marketing, Insights & Team Leadership
  • Lead performance marketing strategy across SEM, SEO, paid media, CRM, loyalty, and affiliates.
  • Partner with creative and brand teams to ensure consistent digital storytelling and brand alignment.
  • Establish data-driven reporting frameworks, turning insights into actionable strategies for growth.
  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional digital team.
  • Act as the digital champion within the business, aligning executive stakeholders to eCommerce priorities.
Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years of senior digital leadership experience, with proven success in eCommerce strategy, expansion, and P&L management.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a track record of scaling profitable global businesses.
  • Deep expertise with leading digital platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), analytics tools (GA4, BI), and marketing technology stacks.
  • Experience in performance marketing with a focus on acquisition, retention, and LTV optimisation.
  • Strong background in platform development, international rollouts, and omnichannel integration.
  • Highly analytical, with expertise in forecasting, financial modelling, and ROI-based decision making.
  • Inspirational leader with the ability to build and scale high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with agility to operate in fast-paced, complex markets.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence at board level.
