A tech firm in Italy is seeking a DevOps engineer to join its team. You will play a crucial role in deploying and managing geospatial applications in the cloud, coding primarily in Python, and creating automated delivery processes. The position emphasizes collaboration and independent problem-solving. Remote work is accepted, ideally within a timezone from GMT-1 to GMT+3, offering a long-term contract perspective.
We are looking for a DevOps engineer with a background in Linux systems admin, operations and web application development since we are taking our geospatial applications to the cloud for greater scalability and robustness to streamline workflow and to support business growth.
We are at an exciting business stage, and this is a central contributing role you will be expected to influence architectural decisions, implement and manage cloud deployments, script automations (Bash, Python, etc..), write code (mostly Python) and help move our core product to continuous delivery. This is a role that will grow significantly with the business.
We offer the possibility to work remotely in Italy or outside Italy. We give preference to candidates able to work in our office or at least in our timezone.
You are comfortable working independently, while functioning as part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, dialogue, development, learning, and growth.
You care about solving big, systemic problems. You look beyond the surface to understand root causes so that you can build long-term solutions for the whole ecosystem.
You are a person open to developing new ideas and contributing expertise, who enjoys challenges, seeks knowledge, and is a team builder.
You can analyze product requirements, manage tasks and partner with your teammates to match the deadlines.
You are motivated, creative, and empowering.
Our intention is to establish a long term relationship so this is not a project based contract.
Working remotely is an option we fully embrace. The ideal candidate should work from a timezone between GMT-1 and GMT+3 to ensure maximum overlap with the rest of the team.
Relocation is not requested and as such we are not envisioning any relocation support package.
