The role

We are looking for a Data Engineer / Junior Data Management SPecialist to help design, manage, and operate our Data Warehouse and related data management systems.

The ideal candidate has a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field, and a solid foundation in SQL databases, Python, and ETL processes.

We’re seeking someone eager to grow their expertise in data systems, with strong analytical thinking and a collaborative mindset to deliver data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the company’s data warehouse and automated data management systems.
• Perform SQL-based data analysis and design data marts and ETL processes, ensuring quality, performance, and security.
• Collaborate closely with BI specialists and Data Scientists to deliver accurate, high-quality data.
• Support the generation of insights and recommendations from data to inform business decisions.
• Conduct thorough testing of developed components before release.

We're looking for someone who must have

The ideal candidate will bring most of the following skills and abilities:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
• Ability to design and execute test cases for software and data analysis.
• Good knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, and database querying.
• Some experience with Python (or other data analysis languages).
• Understanding of ETL architectures and relational databases.
• Excellent teamwork and communication and capacity.
• Foundational knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data lifecycle management.
• Basic familiarity with Unix shell scripting.
• Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS S3).
• Familiarity with streaming data ingestion (e.g., Kafka).
• Interest in machine learning or AI models and algorithms.
