A leading technology firm in Italy is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions emphasizing Zero Trust and a perimeterless approach. You will work closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Network teams to drive secure design patterns predominantly within Microsoft/Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating innovative architectures, automating systems, and ensuring compliance through rigorous documentation and proactive security solutions.

Within the Security Architecture department, the Cyber Security Engineer designs, validates, and implements security solutions that embed Zero Trust principles and a perimeterless approach, working closely with others Cybersecurity, Infrastructure and Network teams. The role spans architecture and hands‑on engineering, driving secure‑by‑design patterns across Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365, on‑Prem and Hybrid platforms with a primary focus on Microsoft/Azure and maintaining the security posture via automated detections, dashboards, and playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Architect & validate innovative security solutions, ensuring defense in depth across identity, endpoints, applications, network and data.
• Determine security requirements in Microsoft/Azure environments and translate them into reference architectures and implementation patterns.
• Develop solutions that enable proactive prevention and effective response (detections, playbooks, dashboards, automation).
• Contribute to formal policies, standards, procedures and requirements; enforce configuration baselines and compliance.
• Identify gaps and implement enhancements across internal systems and integrations (Azure Firewall, NSG, WAF, Azure FrontDoor, Application Gateway, API Management).
• Build & maintain automation: scripts, workbooks, playbooks, and KQL queries to verify system status and posture.
• Promote Security by Design; assess and consolidate the security posture of *aaS services adopted by MSC.
• Document architectures, controls, and operating procedures to enable sustainable operations and audit readiness.
