A leading engineering company is looking for a Mechanical or Civil Engineer to join their Estimates & Methods team in Milan. The successful candidate will support the Bidding Department with technical-economic analyses and construction methodologies for projects. Requirements include a Master's degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in English are essential.

Overview

Cost & Methods Engineer – Plant Specialist – We are looking for a Mechanical or Civil Engineer with a focus on construction site plants and equipment. You will join the Estimates & Methods team in Milan and support the Bidding Department in developing technical-economic analyses and construction methodologies related to production and service plants for national and international projects.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of tender documents (quantity surveys, drawings, specifications) with a focus on temporary plants.
• Estimation of direct costs for:
  concrete mixing, crushing, and prefabrication plants
  civil engineering and tunnel service plants (ventilation, dewatering, utilities, material distribution)
  mechanized excavation systems (TBM) and auxiliary plants
• Comparison of alternative solutions to optimize yields, production cycles, and construction times.
• Contribution to the preparation of technical and economic bids.
• Updating of estimates based on bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaboration with Procurement and Plant & Equipment for benchmarking and cost comparison.
• Drafting of economic documentation for tenders (BoQ, plant breakdown, investment plan).
• Support for technical and economic risk analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in the design, management, or estimation of industrial/construction site plants.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
• Knowledge of estimation/cost control software.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel and work abroad.
