As Control Software - V&V Engineer you will be part of CA&M – Control Software organization. You will perform Validation and Verification activities on control software for safety critical systems according to DO178C. You will conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems, participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews and be part of a team with a full ownership of embedded software development.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop software test cases, procedure and vectors based on High Level and Low Level Software Requirements
  • Setting-up the verification & test environment applying the appropriate configuration
  • Support the integration issues debugging, perform worst case analysis and software performance evaluation
  • Manage validation status of change requests (CR) on the functions and sub‑systems assigned
  • Utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process
  • Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other Avio Aero associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals
  • Document and maintain software verification artefacts
  • Support the software design reviews
  • Contribute to the verification and validation software test and analysis results reviews
  • Ensure adherence to Avio Aero SW development process including support for internal and external process audits
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or other STEM disciplines with experience in software design and development
  • Previous experience in an equivalent engineering position
  • Good knowledge of the DO-178C
  • Experience in control software verification and validation activities
  • Good knowledge of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers)
  • Good organization and problem solving approach
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a strong team environment
  • Clear thinking and diligent approachPassion for innovation and software innovation
  • Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken)
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with software engineering tools (e.g. DOORS and Change & Synergy)
  • Experience with Simulink Check to assess design quality and compliance with standards
  • Experience with Simulink Coverage to perform model and code coverage analysis measuring testing completeness in models and generated code
  • Experience with Simulink Design Verifier to identify design errors in models
  • Experience with Simulink Test to develop, manage, and execute simulation-based tests
  • Experience with Polyspace to identify software bugs via static analysis and prove the absence of run-time errors in software
  • Strong focus on program execution and goals’ achievements
