A global technology company is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in filling prescriptions, communicate with patients and providers, and manage billing issues. Candidates should hold an active pharmacy license and have computer skills, as well as experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent communication abilities and problem-solving skills. The position offers flexible scheduling, and successful applicants will work with a variety of stakeholders while ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription items as permitted by the state board of pharmacy.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies by telephone and email to obtain prescriptions, take refill requests, and resolve billing issues and questions.
  • Enter patients and order information into the pharmacy systems, establishing and maintaining patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
  • Process and submit prescription insurance claims, resolving insurance problems and patient issues that may result from incorrect or incomplete information.
  • Keep patients informed on the status of their prescription or out‑of‑pocket costs in their upcoming shipments.
  • Perform account adjustments, manage payment methods, banking, and unbilled reconciliations.
  • Verify insurance data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to billing, including analyzing and verifying dates of service, quantity, day supply, and billed amounts.
  • Research missing and incomplete information resulting in billing errors and denials.
  • Complete prior authorizations accurately before sending to prescribers or coverage vendors.
  • Transfer calls, tickets, claims, or shipments to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices where permitted by state law.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate patient information while maintaining confidentiality of all information received.
  • Receive and transcribe English‑language prescriptions sent electronically from doctors’ offices and external pharmacies.
  • Communicate with providers to obtain new written English‑language prescriptions or refill requests and verify their completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures, federal / state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain increasing knowledge and understanding of commonly prescribed medications and their uses.
  • Collaborate with other members of the pharmacy team to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other tasks assigned while working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work a flexible schedule; shifts may start and end outside normal business hours, including weekends.
Basic Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted in‑state Board of Pharmacy License (Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, or Assistant). Additional licenses may be required if domicile state differs from state of employment.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA).
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Six or more months of experience working with computer and web‑based tools.
  • Experience multitasking with phone and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of phone or customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience navigating and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Six or more months of experience working in a pharmacy‑related role.
  • Experience recognizing and identifying patient medications.
  • Experience working under pressure in a fast‑paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality.
