Business Analyst – Finance Team
Milan / Florence
Responsibilities
- Prepare and update periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly), ensuring accuracy, alignment, and consistency across all business units.
- Develop, maintain, and improve dashboards and automated reports using Qlik, Power BI, and Excel, covering KPIs such as sales performance, margins, operational costs, and profitability by channel.
- Conduct variance analyses vs. budget, forecast, and previous year, identifying main drivers and extracting actionable insights for management.
- Perform deep‑dive analyses on Retail performance, including store KPIs, productivity, traffic, conversion, average basket, category mix, stock levels, and staffing ratios.
- Monitor daily and weekly sales performance, highlighting trends, opportunities, and potential risks at store and regional level.
- Consolidate financial and operational data from Retail, Wholesale and Operations support corporate reporting and performance tracking.
- Support cost controlling activities, including cost centre analysis, overhead monitoring, and reconciliation of actuals vs. plan.
- Assist in the month‑end closing process, collecting data, running standard reports, and supporting Accounting and Controlling with required analyses.
- Lead and participate in ad‑hoc analytical projects, such as product/category profitability, store assessments, promotional effectiveness, and FTE optimisation.
- Contribute to corporate initiatives related to BI evolution, process digitalisation, data quality enhancement, and reporting optimisation.
- Prepare management presentations and analytical summaries, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and data‑driven storytelling.
- Provide general analytical support to the Finance Team as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Management Engineering, or related fields.
- 1–3 years of experience in analytical roles (Finance, Controlling, Business Analysis).
- Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query).
- Proven experience with Qlik and/or Power BI; familiarity with additional BI tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and Cegid.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem‑solving attitude, and ability to work with large data sets.
- Curiosity, precision, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present data clearly.
