Summary: The Bartender is responsible for overseeing the efficient running and profitability of bar and light meals service, assuring attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient service, instinctive ability to anticipate guests’ needs and delivering a hospitality experience that creates memorable moments for our guests, according to our standards and procedures. He/she has a natural flair for luxury hospitality and strong communicational skills. The role involves actively upselling to each guest at each correct opportunity to maximize revenue and works to achieve personal and team‑related revenue and service goals. He/she develops short‑term and long‑term operational plans for the bar, which support the overall objectives of Hyatt Centric Murano Venice. Finally, he/she is a role model for teamwork, rewards, and encourages a positive work environment within the department and with other departments. He/she teaches, implements, and rewards employees in utilizing their empowerment to meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensures staff demonstrates technical skills, conducts technical training on a regular basis. Reports to F&B Manager.

Qualifications:
  • To ensure the delivery of brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times, reinforcing Hyatt’s Values and culture characteristics
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field, a 2‑year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must work well in stressful high pressure situations maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co‑workers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data. Have the ability to analyze forecast data and make judgments to ensure proper payroll and production control.
  • Familiar with the general organization of a Hotel and know the function of each department.
  • Communicates in a timely and efficient manner, possess strong communication skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills, computer skills and basic technological acumen.
  • Knowledge and experience with forecasting, budgeting, labor management and purchasing to ensure maximum productivity, and be able to complete it in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
  • Knowledgeable and aware of local competition and industry trends.
  • Ensure that the staff comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Know and enforce local laws regarding alcohol, licenses, and hours.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen and Restaurant on pairing concepts and food synergy.
  • Handle guest feedback with care, providing immediate recovery and follow‑up when required.
  • Organize weekly/monthly training sessions, including wine & spirit tastings, cocktail workshops, and guest experience modules.
  • Italian and English speaker.
