Job Summary

This role could be based in Malaysia and India. When you start the application process you will be presented with a drop down menu showing all countries, please ensure that you select a country where the role is based.

  • Software development – provide solutions for minor or small changes and support larger initiatives.
  • Develops and tests code according to technical / programming specifications and application standards
  • Develops comprehensive unit testing conditions and conducts comprehensive unit testing with all unit test defects fixed
  • Provides guidance and technical assistance to team members.
  • Assists in project planning/ initiation phase and support users during implementation.
  • Coordinate various development activities among multiple stakeholders and across multiple geographical locations.
  • Testing support - SIT/CIT/CAT/UAT/OAT/DRH.
  • Ensure project and SCB quality processes are followed.
  • Deployment, PIV and UVT support.
  • Post implementation support.
  • Debugs and fixes application errors within stipulated service level agreement (SLA).
  • Provides support to production services and testing team.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders on new requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Analysis of user stories and assessment of changes required in the system.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Retrospective).
  • Story points estimation and sub-task estimation.
  • Design program specifications aligning to COBOL/JCL coding best practices for efficient system performance
  • Perform Cobol/CICS program coding and testing.
  • ADO/ Confluence updates.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or any IT related.
  • Minimum 5 years experiences in COBOL coding development (Band 7).
  • Business is open to consider Junior COBOL developer (Band 8) for the same job responsibility. Training will be provided.
  • Candidates should be able to do both development and testing.
