Job summary

A leading telecommunications company in Pekanbaru seeks a Radio Network Planning and Design Engineer to perform RF planning and leading design activities for high capacity wireless networks including GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of progression in radio planning, strong interpersonal, and analytical skills. Responsibilities include assessments for network expansion, providing technical support, and utilizing various engineering tools. A Bachelor's degree in related fields is required.

Job description

We are looking for Radio Network Planning and Design Engineer with detail as below : Job Summary: Perform RF planning and design and other related service activities for high capacity wireless networks using GSM, WCDMA, LTE and 5G; familiar with link budgets, RF propagation from cellular antennas, parameters and Radio features of at least one of the following technologies: GSM, WCDMA, LTE include new technology such as IoT, VOLTE and 5G; work independently in performing optimization activities; provide training and guidance to less experience persons in the area of expertise; utilize engineering tools such as cell planning tools, map info, Mentum planet or other same function tool , drive test data collection and post processing tools, and network performance statistics monitoring and analysis tools; good knowledge of Ericsson product and service portfolio, and competitive oAerings; support the preparation of Requests for Proposals if requested.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver radio coverage and capacity assessment for network expansion requirement

Familiar with big data processing to support network planning assessment and can do review, analysis and giving recommendation from the data for the requirement of network expansion activity or request.

Experienced Radio planning and network design (HLD&DLD) for 2G/3G/LTE and 5G including VOLTE and IoT such as network topology design, link budget, CDD/CDR.

Review Network Design document, recommend improvement, revise and update as f inal document Support to provide technical guidelines and suggestions to customers

Provide technical support in customer discussions and respond to queries related to RF planning and design 3G/2G/LTE/VOLTE/IoT including 5G as well.

Strong understanding of 3G/2G/LTE/5G concepts.

Manage network trials and performance data to identify coverage, capacity and interference problems

A comprehensive knowledge of hardware and software features and constraints for 2G/3G/LTE/5G, preferably Ericsson experience. Understand Ericsson site configuration will be much advantage so able to define requirement on BOQ.

Analyze field survey such as site investigation report for support site selection process and external interference analysis

Support project on giving advice on implementation issue related Radio network planning and design

Good knowledge on 2G/3G/LTE/VOLTE/IoT Radio parameters and timers include 5G knowledge as well

Working knowledge of MapInfo or other GIS tools

Good knowledge on Neighbor relations and analysis

Good working knowledge in MS Excel and MS Access

Exposure to tools like TEMS, ACTIX, BO, EDOS, etc will be an advantage Key Qualifications:

Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering, MIS or related field

Having significant relevant experience and min. 5 years or more of progressive experience radio planning and design GSM, LTE, or UMTS networks using RF engineering technology, knowledgeable in 5G as well.

Knowledge of local OHS statutory regulations and group OHS requirements Additional Requirements:

Having solid track record as an Engineer in the area of Radio Network Planning and Design. Be a team player and strong interpersonal skill
