Role Description

The Project Controller for Construction, MEP, and Data Center projects will be responsible for monitoring project performance from a financial, schedule, and resource standpoint. You will support the project team by tracking budgets, validating expenditures, reviewing subcontractor costs, and analyzing progress to ensure the project stays on track. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical understanding of construction/MEP workflows, and the ability to collaborate closely with site teams, project managers, procurement, and finance.

Job Description
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track actual costs, commitments, and expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Identify, analyze, and explain cost variances or deviations to the project manager.
  • Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost summaries for management review.
  • Update and maintain project cost control systems, registers, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to monitor purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor claims.
  • Support the preparation of project schedules, progress tracking, and performance indicators.
  • Assist in risk assessments related to cost, time, and resource impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and project governance standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather data, validate cost entries, and ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in project controls, preferably in construction, MEP, or data centre projects.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required to communicate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of project financials, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Familiarity with construction or engineering project environments is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (advanced), project management tools, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of project scheduling concepts and performance metrics (e.g., S-curve, cash flow, cost variance, progress tracking).
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and disciplined in maintaining accurate financial records.
