Business Development Manager - Chemicals

We are representing a well-established company in the chemical distribution industry that is seeking a Business Development Manager with strong market connections and a proven ability to bring in new accounts and projects. This role is critical in driving revenue growth and expanding the companys customer base across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively identify, approach, and secure new customers and accounts using existing industry networks and market knowledge.
  • Leverage strong professional relationships with manufacturers, principals, and end users to generate new business opportunities.
  • Drive end-to-end business development activities, from prospecting and client meetings to proposal preparation and deal closure.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts to ensure repeat business and sustainable revenue.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, supply chain, sales operations, and finance) to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor movements, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Prepare regular sales pipeline updates, revenue forecasts, and management reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development or sales within the chemical distribution or chemical industry.
  • Strong existing network and market connections with industrial customers and/or chemical principals.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring in new accounts, projects, and revenue.
  • Solid understanding of chemical products, distribution channels, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Results-driven, commercially minded, and comfortable working with targets.
  • Willing to travel for client and business development activities.
