About this Position
The Application Engineer will provide outstanding technical supports for Packaging Adhesive projects received from customers, SEA Application engineering manager, Sales and other departments within Henkel Packaging adhesive SBU. The selected candidate will carry out Flexible lamination machine operation, product evaluation, on-site customer support and customer compliant handling for mainly flexible lamination, coating and other Packaging adhesive related applications. This role will also provide accurate technical reports and information on products, equipment, and technical services offered by Henkel to customers, field sales representatives, and other Henkel personnel.
What you’ll do
- Report to SEA Application Engineering manager. Be based in Jakarta, Indonesia as Field Application Engineer.
- Carries out evaluating product performance with in-house laminator based on incoming requests and projects.
- Review and understand complex customer components and projects and give technology advice to customers, field sales representatives, and other Henkel personnel.
- 20 – 50% travel to customers in support of specific projects and applications is required.
- Monthly reports of technical projects, activities, and issues are required.
- Train test protocols and interpretation for the relevant markets and develops new test methods when needed.
- Shared responsibility for Product Recommendations, New Product Demonstrations, and Troubleshooting for direct customers.
- Performs technical visits (meetings, audits, coating trial, troubleshooting, etc.) at customers and document them via the standard Application Engineering Report template.
- Works with application equipment to provide solutions to enhance customer adhesive related processes.
- Responsible for directly communicating with sales, application specialists and other Application Engineering field people/team or project team members.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratories. This includes maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring the facilities are properly functioning and making sure proper chemical labeling and storage practices are followed in the laboratories as required.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor's degree in Polymer science, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, or Mechanical engineering related major.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Flexible lamination, Coating, Film manufacturing or in related industry field.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can operate Film laminator or role to role coating machines.
- Good English communication skills.
