Born in 1971, the roots of Mulberry are in Somerset, England. For more than fifty years, Mulberry has been a British lifestyle brand, internationally acclaimed for quality and design capturing the Mulberry Spirit. Sustainability has been part of the Mulberry ethos since the brand's inception, and in 2024 we proudly achieved B Corp Certification. Today, we are a global brand, but our values remain the same; we are committed to improving our impact on people and the planet. If these are values you share, we would love you to join our team.

The Role We are looking for a highly organised and product-driven individual with a passion for luxury fashion and accessories. This Junior Product Merchandiser role combines product development, merchandising strategy, market analysis, and operational support. Acting as a key link between Design, Development, Production, Commercial, Marketing, and Retail, you will play a critical role in building compelling collections, optimising product performance, and ensuring smooth information flow across the business.

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical ability, a love for product, and a collaborative approach who is eager to contribute to every stage of the product lifecycle from concept to customer.

This role is offered Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week from the office and up to 2 days per week from home.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Seasonal Planning & Development: Creation of seasonal collection brief through analysis of past performance, market trends and sales feedback.
  • Develop seasonal frameworks focusing on assortment balance (styles, SKUs, functionality, price points).
  • Partner with Design, Development, and Costings to ensure briefs are delivered on time, to margin and in line with strategy.
  • Create, maintain and update Range Grids and all collection related documentation or systems (Prima, NuOrder).
  • Manage product samples, including organisation, tracking, photography and coordination with sampling teams.
  • Competitor & Market Research: Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to identify opportunities in product mix, functionality, materials, price positioning and sustainability.
  • Monitor wider market trends and report findings to inform design and merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct regular competitor pricing analysis in the UK and worldwide.
  • Visit stores regularly to evaluate customer experience, product performance, and competitor positioning.
  • Buying Sessions & Go-to-Market: Prepare global buying sessions, including collection edits, creation of sales tools (presentations, range grids, drop plan, NuOrder matrices) and sample management.
  • Present collections to sales and retail teams, ensuring clear communication of product strategy and features.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising, Digital Team, Press & Marketing to keep them informed of the status of the product and samples and, if necessary, take relevant actions.
  • Sales Analysis & Reporting: Conduct sales reporting, highlighting product performance, key trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Partner with Buying & Merchandising teams to gather feedback from global stores and regional partners.
  • Deliver hindsight analysis post buying session.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Design, Development, Production and Commercial teams, ensuring smooth information flow.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Press, and Digital teams to select product for campaigns, e-commerce, and training and maximize key products visibility.
  • Support the creation of training documents, product manuals, and internal presentations.

Culture

  • Understand and demonstrate the Mulberry employee values and behaviours: Be Bold, Be Imaginative, Be Open, Be Responsible.
  • Support Mulberry to deliver an inclusive culture, through behaving in a way that is open-minded and respectful towards others, and understanding that your views, opinions, and experiences may not always be shared by your colleagues.
  • Act as an ambassador for Mulberry and communicate positively about the brand.

Sustainability

  • As a certified B Corp business, incorporate environmentally responsible practices into your work wherever possible. Support the business Five Cs strategy in addressing and improving Climate, Cultivation, Craft, Culture and Circularity. Promote a greener, more sustainable future.
  • Foster an environment where diversity is embraced and all individuals feel valued, respected and included. Promote equity, empathy and understanding and demonstrate this commitment within your internal and external communities.

Skills And Experience Required

  • 34 years experience in Product Merchandising, ideally within Leather Goods & Accessories.
  • Strong product sensibility with an awareness of luxury fashion trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint.
  • Acute attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality in all work.
  • Experience using PLM systems and digital selling platforms (Prima, NuOrder, Joor) is an advantage.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; confident working cross-functionally.
  • A strong team player with a collaborative, hands-on and solutions-driven approach.
