• A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body)

The role of the Senior Clinical Support Worker within Gynaecology is an exciting opportunity for candidates who thrives working independently as well as supporting the Nursing and medical team.

We are looking for a person who can use initiative and problem solve under the guidance of Standard Operating Procedures and protocols. The position requires proficiency in both clinical and clerical skills. With duties ranging from managing waiting lists , making appointments, (A knowledge of Careflow and Iportal is desirable but not essential). Predominantly based at Royal Stoke.

The primary role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person‑centred care.

The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well‑being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week by week basis within agreed limits.

• 2 years experience of working in the NHS
• Excellent written and communication skills
• oAbility to Ability tocover a variety of shifts over 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays

• Educated to GSCE level or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English
• Hold a Care Certificate
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Access and Power‑point
• Evidence of professional development activity

• Venepuncture
• Taking Clinical Observations and Recording on Vitals/Paper
