As a Supply Chain Business Degree Apprentice (BDA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a 4.5-year rotational scheme which will enable you to understand the end-to-end manufacturing process from planning through to production. You will experience on-campus university delivery of the Level 6 Leadership and Management Professional Degree Apprenticeship with The University of Gloucestershire. Role Profile

As a Supply Chain Business Degree Apprentice (BDA) you will be primarily based within our 600-person Supply Chain in Bishops Cleeve Cheltenham. Throughout your 4.5-year apprenticeship you will be supported through the Level 6 Leadership and Management Professional Degree Apprenticeship delivered by the University of Gloucestershire at their Oxtalls Campus. This offers you the opportunity for an authentic university experience with access to in-person lecturers, libraries, facilities and societies.

Lectures are usually delivered via 2‑day block release every 6‑8 weeks. Apprentices are given time each week to complete off‑the‑job learning which can be used towards academic work and enrichment activity. Teaching dates are mapped so you know what you will study and when.

Our scheme is rotational, offering the opportunity to experience key functions and work on business projects with real responsibility to gain a practical understanding of a busy Supply Chain.

Materials

We want to support your personal professional and academic development, giving you the opportunity to build a network with internal and external customers and to apply your skills in different teams. Subject to business requirement, some rotations may offer the opportunity for travel while others may provide department specific certifications. Our apprentice team drives community through enrichment and team‑building activities that connect apprentices across different schemes. You will have access to mentors and may wish to join GE Aerospace employee‑run networks such as Women’s Network, STEM Pride Alliance, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion.

Overview of the scheme

Year 1

You will focus on integrating into the business and understanding how a busy Supply Chain works. You will be full‑time on placement in Cheltenham and experience 2× rotations during your first 12 months. Use this time to grow your network, understand the business and work on projects. You will be mentored by older apprentices and joined enrichment teams.

Year 2 & 3

In Year 2, you will begin your academic study with the University of Gloucestershire which continues until the end of your apprenticeship. Placement responsibilities will begin to increase as you begin to apply the knowledge acquired in each rotation to new tasks. You will start to lead larger or more complex projects and support the business. You will develop stakeholder‑network problem‑solving and communication skills to drive your own development. You will take an active role in enrichment teams as you prepare to lead a team.

Year 4

Now you start to apply learning in practice as you become more autonomous in your role. Project work will begin to stretch and enable you to develop skills in different environments. You will start to use your knowledge and experience to execute business objectives and support key deliverables. You will begin to think about your future career with GE and the area you hope to obtain a permanent role at the end of your apprenticeship.

Qualifications / Requirement

• 5 × GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grades C / 4 or above
• 3 × A‑Levels at grades C or above (or equivalent)
• Level 3 qualification equivalent to a minimum of 3 × A‑Levels
• Other qualifications such as BTEC are considered

Recruitment Process

As part of our recruitment process you will be required to submit an initial CV application. After this the stages include a video interview and assessment centre. Our recruitment team will be in touch at every stage to keep you updated and explain the next step.

Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Successful candidates will be invited to a video interview. All candidates will be contacted by 31st December 2025 to confirm if their application is being progressed to an assessment centre, which will be planned for January 2026.
