Functional Skills / GCSE Maths & English Tutor – Alternative Education

Location: Peterlee
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Type: Temporary ongoing role

We're working with an alternative education provider in Peterlee who are looking for a Maths and English Tutor to join their small provision. The role involves teaching Functional Skills Maths and English (some GCSE english also)to small groups of learners (no more than five per class), in a calm and supportive setting.

You'll be delivering four 50-minute sessions each day, helping learners who do better in a practical, hands-on environment. The provision mainly focuses on beauty, cooking, and trade skills, so lessons are tailored to support that style of learning.
What we're looking for:
  • Someone with experience teaching Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English
  • Confident working with small groups of students
  • Friendly, adaptable and patient
  • DBS on the update service (or happy to apply for one)
