SEND Tutor
Job summary
A specialized tutoring service in Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced SEND Tutor to provide face-to-face support to children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate must have experience with SEND students and a valid DBS check. Flexible working hours are available, with responsibilities including lesson planning, managing challenging behaviour, and tracking student progress in an engaging manner.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEND) is essential.
- A valid enhanced child workforce DBS check is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face support for children with SEN.
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to student needs.
- Track student progress and report monthly.
Skills
Remedy Tutors are looking for SEND experienced tutors, teachers who are looking for flexible and rewarding work with a rewarding schedule in Southend and surrounding areas.
- working with children with SEN and providing face to face support to children with ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH or PMLD at their homes or a local centre e.g., town hall, library or a centre;
- planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
- plan and deliver engaging sessions;
- apply skills to raise pupils' confidence;
- manage children with challenging behaviour;
- track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports;
- potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student,
- learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.
The work is fitted around your availability.
Experience working with SEND students and a valid enhanced child workforce DBS are both essential.
