Job summary
A key player in recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to perform inspections and maintenance on a diverse fleet. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and possess strong mechanical skills. This role offers day shifts with a competitive salary up to £45k plus overtime, situated in a vibrant working environment that supports staff development.

- Fully qualified in automotive or HGV repairs.
- Experience with a variety of HGV types.
- Possessing a Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain a diverse fleet of vehicles.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform scheduled servicing.
- Correct running defects and perform chassis work.
Skills
Education
HGV Technician • Day shifts • Salary circa up to £45k plus overtime
- Carry out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet including main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers
- Routine and preventative maintenance
- MOT preparation
- Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
- 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
- Correction of running defects
- Chassis and fabrication work
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Improvement of vehicle standards
- Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
- Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent
- IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable
- A HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be desirable
- We are looking for qualified and time served Heavy Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics
