Social Worker / Senior Social Worker - Cared for Team

Grade 7/8, £37,280 - £47,181 per annum, plus an Essential Car User Allowance of £1,239 per annum and a 2% Recruitment and Retention Allowance paid monthly. Contract type: Permanent. Previous applicants need not apply.

About the Role

To safeguard and promote the welfare of children, build relationships with children, young people, their families and networks, and work directly with them to undertake assessments of Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection. This will help us understand what life is like for them and how we can support them and their networks to make long‑lasting changes.

You will do this in line with the relevant policies and procedures in place within Together for Children and Sunderland Safeguarding Board, which support us to keep children and young people safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments of Children in Need, Children in Need of Protection and Cared for Children.
  • Work in accordance with established policies and procedures of Together for Children and Sunderland.
  • Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments and interventions.
  • Ensure work complies with the Relevant policies and safety procedures of Together for Children and Sunderland Safeguarding Board.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  • Participate in supervision, peer support and professional development activities.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
