Accommodation Procurement Officer
Tower Hamlets is one of London’s most diverse and vibrant boroughs, known for its creativity, enterprise, and cultural life. Covering just eight square miles, it offers a unique environment for growth and community. As a Council, we are committed to ongoing improvement and making a tangible impact. We foster a dynamic workplace where collaboration, passion, and pride are valued. We also offer a generous leave package, a competitive pension, and flexible working arrangements.
We are seeking an Accommodation Procurement Officer to join our Housing Options Accommodation Procurement Team. Your role will involve procuring quality accommodation to support the Council’s duties towards homeless and potentially homeless households, including care leavers.
You will collaborate with Housing Officers, Through Care Services, the Children’s Placement Team, and other partners to ensure properties are affordable, suitable, and compliant with legislation. You will also conduct inspections professionally and promptly.
Key responsibilities include negotiating with stakeholders, providing expert advice on property standards and costs, and following up on inspections. A valid driving license is essential, as you will carry out inspections of properties both within and outside Tower Hamlets, including temporary accommodation and hostels.
Experience in data management and reporting is required, along with the ability to produce accurate, concise reports as needed.
If you wish to discuss this role confidentially, please contact Sohid Miah.
Tower Hamlets aims for residents to be aspirational, independent, and have equal access to opportunities. We want to be a borough residents are proud of, and a council that is outcome-driven, innovative, and collaborative. We embrace our TOWER values: Together, Open, Willing, Excellent, Respect.
