The Role

As a Managing Associate in the Bristol Corporate team, you will play a crucial role in the strategic growth and success of the department. This senior position involves managing a diverse and high-value caseload, advising clients on complex corporate matters, and overseeing significant transactions. You will lead and mentor junior associates, ensuring the efficient delivery of services while maintaining high standards of legal excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on a range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings.
• Providing strategic legal advice to a diverse client base, ranging from entrepreneurs and SMEs to large financial institutions and international corporations.
• Managing and mentoring junior associates and paralegals, overseeing their professional development, and ensuring efficient case management.
• Driving business development efforts to expand the firm's client base and strengthen existing relationships, including participating in networking and marketing initiatives.
• Demonstrating excellent financial management skills, including accurate time recording, billing, and managing work in progress (WIP).
• Maintaining up-to-date technical expertise and ensuring compliance with the highest professional standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Corporate Solicitor with 5+ years PQE, with extensive experience in handling complex corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity, and corporate restructurings.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring junior colleagues and managing a busy caseload.
• A commercially astute lawyer with a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to advise senior clients and stakeholders on strategic corporate matters.
• A proactive business developer with a focus on growing the firm's presence in the market.
• A high level of professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
