Job summary

BSW CAMHS In-Reach Team -Deputy Team Manager

We are thrilled to offer a new and exciting opportunity within the BSW (Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire) CAMHS In-Reach team for a Band 7 Deputy Team Manager and Clinical Specialist. This unique, combined role provides the ideal platform to both develop and utilise your leadership and clinical expertise, working within a dynamic and committed multi-disciplinary team.This is a dual-role post, split between:o Deputy Team Manager (0.4 WTE - 15 hours) - providing operational support, leadership, and service development inputo Clinical Specialist (0.6 WTE - 22.5- hours ) - contributing advanced clinical skills within the Family Assessment and Safeguarding Service (FASS) pathway

This role offers a rare opportunity to work across clinical and leadership domains, promoting personal and professional growth. You'll work closely with the Clinical Team Manager, clinical leads, and local leadership to evaluate and evolve services, and you will play a key role in delivering high-quality mental health support to children, young people, and their families.

This role involves travel across Wiltshire and B&NES and working across various clinical settings and family homes.Please ensure you read both attached job descriptions before completing your application.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Team Manager aspect will involve having specific areas of lead responsibility, supporting multi-agency risk assessment and management (including positive risk-taking), and deputising for the CTM when needed. The role will be supported by a clear and regularly reviewed job plan.

The Clinical Specialist portion of the role will be embedded within the FASS pathway, covering Wiltshire and B&NES. You'll be part of a small, passionate and experienced team that provides specialist assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for families experiencing complex mental health and safeguarding challenges.

FASS works with families where children (from pre-birth to 18 years) are at significant risk due to severe parenting difficulties. These families are typically open to Local Authority safeguarding teams and are stepping up to or subject to Child Protection Plans.You will offer consultations, assessments (including parent-infant and parent-child relationships), and use psychological formulation to guide and inform treatment. We offer Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) interventions, individual therapy for parents, and therapeutic family work. You will also contribute to the evaluation and development of these services.

Multiagency risk assessment and management including the need for positive risk taking is an essential part of the role.

Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS and Children services colleagues and a range of external agencies such as Childrens Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Services and Police is also central to the role.

The post holder will also participate in covering the services 24 hour on call service on a rota basis, pro rata 0.4 WTE.

The post holder will support interagency working between community CAMHS and Local Authority Childrens Services to provide a more coordinated and seamless experience of care and support to children, young people and carers who have multiple and complex needs. This role will contribute to the offer of Risk Support in line with the i-Thrive model that will provide a CAMHS perspective to the multi-agency network for children, young people and families, supporting the delivery of broader outcomes and helping to reduce safeguarding risks through a Team Around the Relationship multi-agency approach.The post holder will provide Consultation to Childrens Social care with the opportunity to offer direct work as indicated to meet the needs of young people and their carers. There will be opportunities to provide training to multiagency staff groups.The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and supervision and within the overall framework of the Trust policies and procedures.
