Skills
Build Recruitment is looking for a Carpenter Multi based in Bedford for a temporary‑to‑permanent role. This position supports social housing properties across Bedford, providing general carpentry repairs and basic multi‑trade work.
- Carry out general carpentry repairs in occupied and void social housing properties, including doors, skirting, floors, locks, etc.
- Repair or replace kitchen units, worktops, door frames, and window boards.
- Provide basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, or decorating to finish jobs to a good standard.
- Identify and report any additional works or materials needed on site.
- Ensure all work is done safely, following health & safety guidelines.
- Keep tenants informed on progress and maintain good customer service.
- Van fuel card provided.
- Power tools provided.
- Weekly pay every Friday.
- Opportunity to go permanent after the temporary period.

The ideal candidate would have experience as a maintenance operative, multi‑skilled operative, multi‑trade operative, multi trader, carpenter, joiner, UPVC specialist, plumber (multi‑trader), plasterer (multi‑trader), handyman, or any similar role within social housing, housing associations, domestic properties, council properties, or the Ministry of Defence.
