Principal Pricing Analyst - Home Based, United Kingdom

Salary: Up to £60,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Personal Lines Pricing department as a Principal Pricing Analyst.

We’re looking for a candidate with a few years' experience in insurance pricing who is eager to take on more responsibility. The ideal candidate enjoys applying statistical methods to solve problems, collaborates well within a team, and strives to develop their skills.

This role is fully remote, so it can be performed from home. If you prefer, you can also work from our office!

• Maintain and develop sophisticated pricing models and price optimisation techniques
• Analyze, evaluate, and assess new rating factors, developing pricing structures that utilize them
• Guide the business in determining pricing actions to achieve objectives
• Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of pricing and analysis tools such as WTW Radar, WTW Emblem, SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL, and Python
• Automate, streamline, and document pricing processes to maximize efficiency
• Present technical proposals to key stakeholders as part of our governance process
• Manage certain processes and liaise with relevant stakeholders internally and externally
• Manage and support the career development of your team members

• Either a 2:1 bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent) in a numerical subject, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of General Insurance underwriting principles
• Proven experience in the General Insurance industry
• Experience in Data Science, Pricing, or Actuarial functions
• Knowledge of statistical and mathematical techniques applied to insurance pricing, risk selection, and analysis
• Experience managing a team, with the ability to motivate and engage
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
