AI Engineer | Greenfield AI Product | Architecture Presentation SaaS

• Day rate : £400-450 Outside IR35
• 2-month with likelihood of extension
• Remote : UK / Europe

You will lead the end-to-end development of the first AI beta for a brand-new greenfield product designed for architecture students and professionals. This AI will analyse floor plans and diagrams, interpret the underlying project, and automatically generate architectural presentation sheets. You’ll shape the technical direction, choose the model, build the prototype, and help transform a concept-stage idea into a functional AI product.

You’ll work directly with two ambitious founders bringing deep domain knowledge from architecture and marketing, and you’ll play a defining role in setting the pace, quality, and feasibility of the product.

This is the very first technical hire; you’ll own the AI, influence the future stack, and build the foundations for a scalable SaaS.

• AI model development and fine-tuning
• Analysis of graphic inputs such as floor plans, diagrams, and renders
• Building an early-stage prototype capable of interpreting architectural drawings
• MVP architecture direction for the future SaaS platform
• Collaboration with founders to define scope, timelines, and realistic delivery plans

• AI engineering experience (3–5+ years) focused on model selection, evaluation, and prototyping
• Strong ability to analyse feasibility, challenge assumptions, and propose realistic technical solutions
• Confident working with under-defined ideas and transforming them into clear, structured technical plans
• Experience in greenfield or early-stage startup environments
• Excellent communication; you’re able to push back thoughtfully and guide founders through technical trade-offs

• Experience working with image-based or multimodal AI models
• Background in computer vision, spatial reasoning models or architectural / technical drawing datasets
• Ability to contribute to or eventually build the full-stack product
• Prior startup or founding engineer experience

You’ll be joining at the ground floor of a brand-new product aimed at an underserved vertical; architecture students and early-career designers. You will :

• Own the AI beta from the ground up
• Dictate the engineering direction and the technical roadmap
• Help create a first-to-market tool in a largely untouched niche
• Work closely with passionate founders who are open, collaborative and move quickly
• Build something that can meaningfully impact how architectural projects are presented, reviewed, and understood
