A leading housebuilding firm in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced infrastructure design professional to oversee groundwork packages for residential developments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in design, preferably in a civil engineering environment. Responsibilities include overseeing external work designs and coordinating with design teams to meet project timelines. The role offers a competitive salary and a hybrid working culture that supports flexibility for employees.
The Design and Technical teams are involved in all aspects of housing design and innovation, and are responsible for researching the best materials at the best cost. In terms of design, there is a sheer variety of our sites – many using existing buildings, each with unique problems to solve – and a focus on new materials and sustainability, all in the face of ever‑changing building and environmental legislation. Most team members have an architectural or engineering background, and for all we offer the opportunity to gain expertise in design and project management in a thought‑provoking setting. Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the design of infrastructure and groundwork packages for residential developments.
We've been nationally recognised as a 5‑star housebuilder since 2010 for supplying high‑quality homes for all generations – more than any other major housebuilder. We combine the brightest minds, the latest technology and a genuine commitment to putting customers first. We seek the best people to help shape the future of building, offering tailored opportunities for apprentices, graduates, experienced professionals and ex‑armed forces personnel.
We adopt a hybrid way of working that allows office‑based colleagues to divide their time between the office, construction sites, sales offices and home working where the role dictates. This flexible culture benefits both the company and its employees. We build an organization where any driven and talented individual can pursue the career they want, regardless of gender, race, age, sexuality, disability, background or other characteristic. We are proud to provide an inclusive and progressive work environment.
