Job summary
A leading engineering firm is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain specialist equipment across various locations in the UK. The role involves independent travel, installation, servicing, and fault-finding tasks. Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, a full UK driving licence, and previous experience in a similar role. - Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar hands-on engineering role.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel nationwide with overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Service, repair, install, and maintain specialist equipment across multiple locations.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive breakdowns.
- Fault-find on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Complete accurate job sheets and documentation.
- Support project-based installations when required.
Skills
Hours: Monday - Friday days only
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (Depending on experience) + Overtime Opportunities
Overtime: Paid door-to-door 1.5x anything over contracted hours (Mon–Fri) 2x on weekends
(Nationwide Travel Required, overnight stays 1–3 nights per week on average)

This is a mobile position involving travel to customer sites, carrying out installation, servicing, breakdowns, maintenance, and fault-finding on a range of specialist equipment.
- Service, repair, install, and maintain specialist equipment across multiple locations
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns
- Fault-find on mechanical and electrical systems
- Complete accurate job sheets, reports, and all relevant documentation
- Work independently to manage your schedule and workload effectively
- Support project-based installations when required
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar hands‑on engineering role
- Strong mechanical and / or electrical fault‑finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationwide with overnight stays (1–3 nights per week)
