Job Description:
Apprentice/Trainee People Manager
Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds
To cover our Public Sector North team (Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow and Edinburgh offices) with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and travel between the offices.

The role of an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager within the Public Sector Audit business is critical to the experience our Associates have as they embark on their Audit careers and is key to retaining our great people. Through your everyday interactions with our Associates you will play a pivotal role in inspiring our people to be their best and creating an inclusive culture. You will work closely with the Associate Career Coaches and other key internal stakeholders such as Office Training Contacts, Early Careers and Graduate Recruitment.

A look into the role

As an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager within our Public Sector Audit team, you will:

  • be responsible for providing both support and challenge to Associates to enable them to be their best. This includes;
  • having regular conversations with Associates to understand workload, pressures, wellbeing and feedback
  • proactively managing issues that arise including exam fails, under performance, absence and wellbeing concerns and escalating issues where appropriate
  • handle numerous administrative tasks
  • leading the local orientation for Associates, providing a first-class introduction to our firm
  • working in close partnership with Associate Career Coaches and the other Apprentice/Trainee People Managers
  • valuing diversity through everyday inclusion

You will work collaboratively with a variety of internal teams. You’ll also be an active member of both the local management team and people manager community

Given the importance of this role, there will be opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge and develop their skillset including commercial awareness and contributing to people projects.

  • Knowledge of accountancy profession training pathways
