Children's Home Registered Manager - New 4-Bed Service

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £53,725.86 (inclusive of performance-based bonuses)

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established provider of residential childcare services, currently launching a brand-new children's home in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed home and shape a nurturing, supportive, and high-quality environment for young people from day one.

About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to oversee the opening and day-to-day running of a rural 4-bed children's home, managing a team of up to 9 staff. You'll ensure the delivery of person-centred care that meets the emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs of the young people, while meeting regulatory and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

·Oversee the care, safeguarding, and well-being of young people in the home.
·Lead, develop, and manage the staff team to ensure consistent high standards of care.
·Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements, children's home legislation, and safeguarding protocols.
·Prepare and monitor care plans, risk assessments, reports, and documentation to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
·Foster a positive, open, and inclusive culture that encourages learning and development.
·Represent the service professionally to external agencies, including local authorities, regulators, and the local community.
·Manage the home's operations, budget, rota, and on-call duties efficiently and proactively.
·Contribute to wider operational development across the organisation where required.

About You

·Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in residential childcare, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
·Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
·Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
·In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding protocols, and children's home regulations.
·Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
·Passionate about making a positive impact in young people's lives and promoting their voice in all aspects of care.
·Full UK manual driving licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance.
·Willingness to participate in an on-call rota (approximately twice per month).
