Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised and meticulous Project Manager/Games Producer to deliver projects across our high growth startup as well as lead our mobile game production cycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PMO/ project management ideally PMP or Prince 2 qualified with project management within the games industry, particularly for mobile games. You will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the games, ensuring that all aspects of the project run smoothly, from concept to release, with high visibility using Confluence/ Atlassian, escalating tasks that may become delayed or overdelayed. As a key member of the team, you’ll work closely with games designer, artists, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role presents a unique opportunity to evolve into a more senior executive role within the company as we scale and grow and will be incentivised subject to performance/ delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversee the planning, development, and delivery of mobile game projects, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met Team Coordination: Coordinate and manage the whole team, including designers, artists, programmers, and sound designers, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the project.
• Budget and Timeline Management: Monitor and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring the project stays on track and is delivered within the agreed scope and resources.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders, including the management team, on the progress of the project, addressing any issues or risks that arise through careful and strong visibility, RAG status tracking
• Risk Management: Proactively identify and resolve potential risks or roadblocks, adapting the project plan as needed to keep the development process on track.
• Quality Control: Ensure that the game meets the highest quality standards by working closely with the QA team to identify and resolve issues throughout the development process.
• Agile Methodology: Utilise Agile or similar project management methodologies to manage the development process, ensuring smooth workflows and iterative development.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of the project, including schedules, milestones, resources, and any changes to the scope.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a PMP qualified/experienced Project Manager or Games Producer.
• Project Management Tools: Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Atlassian, Confluence, Jira, Trello etc.).
• Agile Methodology: Experience working with Agile or Scrum project management methodologies to manage game development.
• Team Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of developers, designers, and artists.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate project goals, timelines, and risks clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions to keep the project moving forward, tracking a task until it’s complete.
• Organisation: Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.

Bonus Skills/ experience

• Experience in Education/ Games/ Startups: Familiarity with the education/ mobile games industry, including an understanding of mobile platforms, distribution, and performance optimisation.
• Game Development Experience: Knowledge or experience in the development process, including design, art, programming, and QA.
• Understanding of Analytics: Familiarity with game analytics and using data to drive decisions and improve the player experience.
• Experience with Unity: Knowledge of Unity or other game engines is beneficial for understanding the technical aspects of the game development process.
